OTI said T-Mobile infringed a patent that lets mobile-phone users make payments, mine data and employ other applications, according to the complaint filed yesterday in Manhattan federal court.
“We believe in the strength and value of our intellectual property and have the resources to protect it,” Oded Bashan, the chief executive of Rosh Pina, Israel-based OTI, said in a statement.
A representative of Bellevue, Washington-based T-Mobile didn’t immediately return a message left at the company’s media relations department seeking comment on the lawsuit.
The case is On Track Innovations Ltd. v. T-Mobile USA, 12- 2224, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).
