Lawyer: How I Got 'Doping' Athletes Into Olympics
Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) — Sometimes the Olympic movement’s anti-doping authorities get it wrong, Howard Jacobs tells Bloomberg Law’s Spencer Mazyck. A Los Angeles solo practitioner, Jacobs represented two U.S. Olympians in arbitration proceedings, getting both LaShawn Merritt and Jessica Hardy into the 2012 London games. Both had unintentionally run afoul of the banned substances list, Jacobs says. Swimmer Hardy won two medals in London.
