Should Hate Speech Be Illegal?
June 27 (Bloomberg Law) — Free speech is the quintessential American value but does U.S. law go too far, protecting speech that causes harm to the dignity of the groups targeted? Jeremy Waldron, a professor at New York University School of Law, thinks it does. He tells Bloomberg Law’s Josh Block that the United States is the only advanced democracy in the world without some version of hate speech regulation.
